About Amy
I fell in love with poetry at the age of nine, when my Grammy–a children’s librarian–gave me her well-thumbed copy of poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay. I received my Bachelor’s in English from Duke and my Master’s in American Poetry from UNC-Chapel Hill. I taught high school English for 10 years in North Carolina before moving with my husband and children to Ann Arbor in 2001. I have been teaching literature, composition and creative writing at Washtenaw Community College ever since.
