Immersed in Nature
A Writing Lesson with Amy Higgins
Based on Amy’s workshop sponsored by Beacon Arts Michigan and Macon Creek

Praise from a student at WCC who has taken 4 of Amy’s classes there and who attended both the Immersed in Nature and Writing to Heal workshops.
I really enjoyed the workshop today and found it healing. I have taken 4 courses from Amy Higgins and she has inspired me and led me to new areas of the study of literature and creative writing. She has helped me find my creative voice and taught me new ways to analyze literature. She has really gone the extra mile in helping me learn and grow.–Olivia Bottum
Writing to Heal

Kind words from a workshop attendee:
Thank you for the lovely workshop on Writing and Healing. You have the unusual ability to use your hardship as inspiration for helping others believe in their writing voice (themselves) and use it, then accept the pleasure, the confidence and healing that comes from the result. You did that in many ways, most vividly by your warmth (yes, in-person is best) and by revealing your own vulnerability. You so carefully prepared. You selected excellent materials. (Mary Oliver is my favorite poet. Now I have learned about more poets from you.) Keep pursuing your talents and dreams. Students are enriched by your work. —Edie Croake
